Description

Cold season has a way of slowing everything down. Shorter days, colder air, and more time spent indoors often mean our bodies need a little extra care and comfort.

This tea is a blend we created for those moments. It’s one we keep on hand throughout the winter months—especially when seasonal congestion, throat irritation, or post-nasal drip make it harder to feel comfortable or rest well.

Rather than being aggressive or overpowering, this blend is designed to feel gentle, grounding, and supportive, fitting naturally into a slower winter rhythm.

Why We Created This Tea

We’ve found that simple herbal teas are one of the easiest ways to support the body during demanding seasons. Warmth, hydration, and whole plants working together can go a long way toward helping the body feel more at ease.

This blend came together after years of using similar herbs individually and noticing how well they complemented one another when combined. It isn’t meant to replace rest or good care—it’s meant to support them.

Instead of focusing on exact ratios or formulas, we focus on intention: choosing herbs that work together gently and consistently, day after day.

What’s in the Blend (and Why)

Each herb in this tea was chosen intentionally for how it contributes to the overall experience—comforting, nourishing, and well-balanced. Each of the leaf varieties is a high quality cut leaf only – not cheap leftover leaf powders.

Eastern White Pine Needles

Traditionally used in wintertime herbal preparations, pine needles bring a fresh, forest-like aroma to the blend. They’re often chosen for seasonal respiratory comfort and add a grounding quality that feels especially appropriate during colder months.

(Because some evergreen trees can look similar but aren’t safe to use, we take care to use only properly identified Eastern white pine!)

Elderberries

Elderberries are a classic cold-season herb with a long history of traditional use. They’re commonly included in winter blends to support the body during times when the immune system is under increased seasonal demand. These add a delightful berry component to the tea.

Peppermint Leaf

Peppermint adds a light, cooling note that balances the deeper herbs in the blend. It’s often used to promote comfort in the head and throat and contributes to the overall soothing nature of the tea.

Nettle Leaf

Nettle is a deeply nourishing herb that helps round out the blend. Traditionally valued for its mineral content, it supports overall wellness during seasons when the body may feel run down.

Rosehips

Naturally rich in vitamin C and beneficial plant compounds, rosehips add a gentle tartness and are commonly included in seasonal wellness blends.

Marshmallow Root

Marshmallow root is known for its soothing, demulcent qualities. It helps coat and comfort irritated tissues, making it especially valuable in blends designed for throat and upper-airway comfort.

How We Use This Tea

We enjoy this tea warm, sipping it slowly—especially in the evening or before bed. It’s become part of our rhythm during colder months, alongside rest, hydration, and a gentler pace.

This blend isn’t meant to overpower or force a result. Instead, it’s meant to support the body while it does what it’s designed to do.

For us, herbal tea is as much about slowing down as it is about what’s in the cup.
